Committees

Committees

Thorough policy analysis and active advocacy lie at the heart of AAIP’s work. AAIP’s policy committees allow member companies to meet regularly and chart the course forward to impact outcomes on a range of critical issues.

Trade & Trade Agreements
The AAIP Trade and Trade Agreements Committee meets regularly to share information and form the AAIP policy positions that are shared with policy makers in Washington, D.C. and in the Indo-Pacific region.
Cross Border Dataflows
AAIP supports the free flow of data and opposes barriers that restrict the free flow of data. Restrictions to dataflows are costly to innovation, job creation, and economic growth. The AAIP Cross Border Dataflows Committee meets regularly to share information and to form AAIP’s policy positions that are shared with policy makers in Washington, D.C. and in the Indo-Pacific region.
Supply Chain Security
Recent global challenges have exposed serious structural weaknesses in the global supply chain that companies and consumers around the world rely upon for efficient manufacturing and affordable quality products. AAIP’s Supply Chain Security Committee meets regularly to share information and to form AAIP’s policy statements on supply chain security issues. These statements are shared widely with policy makers in Washington, D.C. and with governments throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
Climate Change & Sustainability
AAIP is committed to the bold climate action goals that President Biden declared at COP26 in Glasgow. The AAIP Climate Change & Sustainability Committee meets regularly to share information and to discuss AAIP’s policy positions on the issues concerning climate change and sustainability. These positions are shared widely with policy makers in Washington, D.C. and in capitals throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
B3W & Infrastructure
American companies offer reliable solutions and partnerships as governments throughout the region seek to not just recover from the economic toll caused by the lengthy COVID-19 pandemic, but to also build their economies back better than ever before. AAIP’s B3W & Infrastructure Committee will meet regularly to share information and to form AAIP’s policy positions on the important issues concerning the Build Back Better World agenda and other U.S.-led infrastructure initiatives in the Indo-Pacific region.
Digital Trade, Economy & Services
Emerging business models – especially in the area of digital trade – require effective engagement from the private sector to ensure the regulatory space does not stifle innovation. AAIP’s Digital Trade, Economy & Services Committee meets regularly to share information and to form AAIP’s policy positions on the issues surrounding digital economy issues. These policy positions are shared with policy makers in the United States and with governments throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
